What is the definition for adversity?
The definition of adversity is a misfortune, a troubling situation, or hardship.
What is the definition for resilience?
The definition of resilience is having the capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from difficulties and/or toughness.
In order to have a testimony, you must first be “tested”.
As leaders and entrepreneurs, we carry a noble responsibility to be the leaders and visionaries of our tribes.
Life is full of painful experiences. If they do not destroy us, they can decimate even the strongest souls for great periods of time.
Those experiences can leave us so bitter that we sometimes spend years reeling from the blow.
When bad things happen, it’s easy to get beaten down – to even think that God (or the world) has dealt us a bad hand on purpose.
Thinking so does no good in the long run or short run.
Once you accept your fate (good or bad – remember life can be tough) and get on with the business of improving yourself, you will step into the role of leadership, first in your own life, and second for your tribe.
Why is this so important?
It’s so important, because, to become a great entrepreneur, teacher, lawyer, a great author, doctor, or a great “anything” – you have to know yourself.
To know yourself means to have walked in some tough “adversities. Yep. That is how you earn the right to stand on that stage. When we embrace the struggle, we find our strength.
We can’t change what happens, but we can change our response to it.
